Vocalist, composer, and roving musicologist Majel Connery has commissioned and performed such works as Caroline Shaw’s Contriving the Chimes and Ken Ueno’s Aeolus, her voice has been called “thoroughly Schubertian” (Wall Street Journal) and “crystalline” (Chicago Reader). She was formerly assistant professor in musicology at UC Berkeley, and in the Spring of 2019 co-taught the “Voice” seminar at Princeton, with poet Jeff Dolven. Based in New York and Berkeley, she’s part of the composer collective Oracle Hysterical.
